Learn to give a relaxing and therapeutic Thai massage in small classes with emphasis on rhythmic and meditative massage techniques.
It is said that Thai traditional massage is useful in helping to relieve the pain and synptoms of chronic aches and pains in the muscles and bones. Many people are also surprised at the soothing effects that the massage has in helping to reduce stress. The actual massage itself begins at the feet and works its way up the legs, waist, back, shoulders, and the neck area. The masseur may spend a larger amount of time on a certain area of the body, depending on the client’s needs. The complete traditional massage will last about two hours. There are several traditional massage parlors in Chiang Mai. Some offer only thai massage, while others have herbal sauna and skin care as additional services. Most massage parlors will charge from between 100-300 baht per hour. There are also schools that will give lessons in the art of traditional massage, and will charge from 2,000-2,500 baht for a week of schooling. Upon finishing the course you are presented with a certificate of completion.
